New Single-Player DLC for BioShock 2, Protector Trials, Now Available
Mr. Bubbles? With the string of blockbuster titles delivered to us – in what seemed like week after week- in the first quarter of this year, it feels like ages ago that we once again descended to the world of Rapture. 2K Marin’s sequel BioShock 2 was received to mixed reviews. Many critics and gamers felt is was just more of the same familiarity and didn’t progress like they had eagerly hoped it would. The newly added multiplayer was a welcomed addition and although it wasn’t the primary draw of the product, it ended up being an enjoyable asset to the game. As the industry has full-on entered the drought period of post E3, 2K Marin has sought to use this lull as the perfect time to bring gamers back to BioShock 2, with some fresh DLC.
2K announced today that Protector Trials, an all-new single player focused downloadable game add-on is now available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace – priced at 400 MSPoints (($5US), as well as on the PSN for $4.99. Protector Trials will put players back into the boots of Big Daddy as you defend Little Sister against swarms of corrupt Splicers who are bent and determined on stealing the precious ADAM she posseses. Protector Trials is the first single-player focused DLC package and third in the series. It contains many fast-paced challenges, frantic combat and action that will push your mastery of weapons and Plasmids. In this DLC package you are given a simple goal, but achieving it is by no means a simple task: keep Little Sister safe from the onslaught of Splicers. The pack includes:
- Six new maps: three unique difficulty levels, each based on favorite locales from BioShock 2;
- New unlockables, including never-before-seen concept art and videos;
- Seven new Achievements/Trophies.
