Alien Breedâ„¢ Evolution (Episode 1) marks the rebirth of a gaming legend that has laid dormant for years. While the core gameplay remains intact, the technology, online component, and production values have improved immeasurably for your pleasure. The first episode of three has you battling alone or partnering up against the "breed," offline or online over five action-packed single-player levels and three multiplayer levels. Including bar-raising visuals and immersive gameplay, Alien Breed Evolution (Episode 1) is the definitive must-have action horror title you've been waiting for!

Not a bad game. But after the first playthrough, you are pretty much done.

Editor Review CRASH! You wake up in your room to a female standing in the doorway. Somehow while you were taking your nap, your crew managed to get hit by another space vessel. Nice going guys! Alien Breed is a overhead view survival shooter (similar to Guantlet camera style) where you take control the head engineer of a space frigate. The object of the game is to go around areas of the ship and restart critical systems to free yourself from the infested ship that has collided with yours. You start out in your room with nothing but a very large pistol that doesnt shoot very high caliber bullets for its size, however; it never runs out of ammo. You progress through your ship searching dead bodies, lockers, rooms, and boxes for things of value while you try to restart systtems that went offline due to the crash. As you do this, you come across aliens which have different abilities and equipment to defend yourself with. The story is fairly long with a boss fight or two and has three difficulty levels. It is also accompanied by a short co-op play through.
The Good
If played on the high difficulty, the game can be a difficult survival horror shooter. You may not last long if you dont make clever use of choke points and weapons/items. You also find yourself switching between guns to conserve ammo and savoring and large health packs you manage to find. The game has a variety of weapons you can use as well as different grenades and even sentry guns. Each gun has a strength and a weakness that must be utilized or you may find yourself wasting precious ammo. For an arcade game it has a pretty good size length story mode. It is accompanied with cut-scenes that introduce a comic book style layout with voice-overs. The graphics are good quality. You wont find yourself bored playing this game.
The Bad
A few negatives is that the camera does not go out too far so you find yourself changing the position to find the best manageable angle. The Co-Op in this game consists of four levels that are just dungeon crawls with no story to them. They can be played on all three difficulties but are rather short. The biggest negative would be that once your are finished with the story, its done. You may play it over again on a harder difficulty if you werent already, but other than that, its the same.
Reccomendation
Meh!
