Star Hammer Tactics Now Available for PSP and PS3

Star Hammer Tactics is now available for PSP & PS3 in Europe and Oceania (aka Australia and New Zealand)

Today’s word is tactics.

Do you possess them? Do you know how to use them? Do you often mistake the word for Tic Tacs? Are yours superior to your friends and family or perhaps a bunch of computer AI made up of complex and tricky algorithms consisting of ones and zeros?

Well if so, Black Lab Games has released an easy-to-learn strategy game that’s great for playing in short burst or extended hauls.

Star Hammer Tactics is a futuristic, top-down tactical battle game (think Battleship the board game layout but infused with Battlestar Galactica) that anyone from seasoned strategy gamers to first time players can pick up and learn in minutes. The game offers a single-player campaign mode, where players will assume the role of a naval strike group commander as they defend the planet Novus from the marauding alien menace known as Nautilids. Players can also compete against a friend in multiplayer mode. Fleet customization, placement and, yes, tactics will play a big role on the road to victory in this game. The latest update to the Playstation Network includes the launch of PlayStation Plus, an enhanced feature set to provide enhanced online gaming content and features.  These enhancements bring the PSN experience more in line with that on XBLA including having to pay a subscription fee.  That’s right PlayStation Plus is a subscription based program. Standard PSN features remain free of charge including online game play while Xbox Live gamers still need a Gold Subscription to play multiplayer games online.

This is still a major cultural shift in the Sony gaming world so it will be interesting to see how the community responds.  Here are the full details of the Playstation Network v. 3.40 update:
